YOTA is a Russian mobile broadband service provider and smartphone manufacturer.Yota is a trademark of Skartel LLC .On 9th may 2012,Yota's WiMAX was replaced by its LTE network.The russian company has its new owner after shareholder Telconet capital sold its majority 64.9% holdings to hong kong listed REX Global Entertainment for $100 million .After bringing out by the chinese company REX Global,Yota is looking to strike its mainstream market.
Yota drawn its attention with the unique dual-screen smartphone which slashes at the increasingly similar designs of phones by offering an e-link screen on its back.The first phone was simply named as Yota phone , which was launched in december 2012 and was at a good sales across 20 markets in Europe , russia and middle east.Before the appreciation ended it releases it second phone Yota phone 2.The target was at $50,000 but the Indiegogo campaign brought the phone to US and ended up with nearly $300,000 ,overshooting its target.Though the campaign was successful but the company backed out.
The YOTA phone and YOTA phone 2 faced difficulties with production that seriously effected the sales and by this it took almost a year each for both the handsets to release.Now , REX is promising to infuse $ 50 million in the development of the YOTA phone 3.
In an interview with Reuters Yota CEO Vlad Martynov said "China will be the biggest market interms of volumes,no doubt about that" and he added "The company is looking not just a one-time investment ,but long-term access to financial resources . Yota has its branches in Germany,Finland,Singapore and Russia ,But the statement by china shows that its major focus is at its locations Beijing,Shanghai and Shenzhen .
