20,000 Nokia N1 tablets sold out in 4 min


The Nokia N1 was announced in China this week and offered in an online store on January 8th. In mere 4 minutes and 2 seconds it was all done as 20,000 units were sold out. As it turns out, lots of people are finding the price of $257 USD to be pretty attractive, so much so that over half a million people (566,438, to be exact) queued up online to try and get a piece of that action
As Nokia cannot launch any mobiles or smartphones at least till the end of 2016 thanks to a deal with Microsoft, It has unveiled a new tablet N1 running Android Lollipop yes you have heard correct it's an Android tablet not any typical Windows tablet.
Color options
The tablet completely resembles the Apple iPad Mini 3. It has the same 7.9" screen loaded with same 2048x1536 resolution which will account for 324PPI. it doesn't stop here the placement of camera, buttons and audio jack. even the bottom of the device has the same speaker grills and the charging port looks like a lightning port, but it is the first implementations of reversible type-c USB Connector and the key element of the device is that it is both lighter and thinner than the iPad Mini 3.

The tablet runs on Android Lollipop alongside Z Launcher. The idea behind Z Launcher, which is named after a gesture that lets you write out letters right on the screen, is to give you a list of apps and contacts that changes based on where you are and what you're doing. You can also scribble out a letter in the middle of your homescreen to search what's installed on your phone, or things on the internet through Google suggestions. The Z Launcher is available on Play Store today for Android Mobiles but tablet version is not yet out.
Nokia isn't building the tablet it is just licensing the product. It is partnering with Foxconn to manufacture the device licensing  industrial design and Z Launcher software to the firm.
It is a 64Bit device powered by Quad-core 2.3GHz Intel Atom Processor alongside PowerVR G6430 GPU. It has got a 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage and you will not be able to extend using any SD card. 
The Tablet sports a 8MP rear facing camera with Autofocus camera able to record video @ 1080P resolution alongside with a 5MP font camera for selfies. It has got quite a huge batter with 5,300mAh.
Sebastian Nystrom, Head of Products at Nokia Technologies, who announced the N1 at the Slush technology conference in Helsinki, said, "We are pleased to bring the Nokia brand back into consumers' hands with the N1 Android tablet, and to help make sophisticated technologies simple. The N1 has a delightfully intuitive interface and an industrial design to match it. This is a great product for Nokia fans and everyone who has not found the right Android tablet yet."
