The Nokia N1 was announced in China this week and offered in an online store on January 8th. In mere 4 minutes and 2 seconds it was all done as 20,000 units were sold out. As it turns out, lots of people are finding the price of $257 USD to be pretty attractive, so much so that over half a million people (566,438, to be exact) queued up online to try and get a piece of that action
As Nokia cannot launch any mobiles or smartphones at least till the end of 2016 thanks to a deal with Microsoft, It has unveiled a new tablet N1 running Android Lollipop yes you have heard correct it's an Android tablet not any typical Windows tablet.
Nokia isn't building the tablet it is just licensing the product. It is partnering with Foxconn to manufacture the device licensing industrial design and Z Launcher software to the firm.
The Tablet sports a 8MP rear facing camera with Autofocus camera able to record video @ 1080P resolution alongside with a 5MP font camera for selfies. It has got quite a huge batter with 5,300mAh.
Sebastian Nystrom, Head of Products at Nokia Technologies, who announced the N1 at the Slush technology conference in Helsinki, said, "We are pleased to bring the Nokia brand back into consumers' hands with the N1 Android tablet, and to help make sophisticated technologies simple. The N1 has a delightfully intuitive interface and an industrial design to match it.
