The new Nexus 2016 family was unveiled today in an event held by Google. Google unveiled 3 new devices Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Pixel C. The huawei made the Nexus 6P, P is for phablet and it is considered to be the flagship device. The new exciting feature is the USB Type-C slot and fingerprint sensor, which is placed on the backside of the device. It makes more sense and looks a lot natural where your index finger rests on it.
The Nexus 6P features a complete metal unibody which gives a premium look and the device sports a dimensions of 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm, the device is very thin and the fact that it weighs only 176gm when compared to size of the device and is boosted by 2 front facing speakers. The screen size is lowered to 5.7" which is much more comfortable to use compared to last years model. The screen is AMOLED display with QuadHD resolution(1440 x 2560 pixels) that gives it a 518PPI and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
The fact that its an flagship device it features some powerful hardware inside it. It is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 which is 64BIT processor that is clocked at 2.0Ghz. It is equipped with a Adreno 430 GPU that can drive powerful QHD graphics, and will also feature a 3GB RAM, hat enables ease of switch between applications and a faster performance. The handset comes in 32GB($499), 64GB($549), 128GB($649) variants and hence there will be no card slot.
The Nexus 6P sports a 12.3MP Laser Autofocus camera with 1.55µm, wide aperture but no Optical Image Stabilization. It also can shoot 4K video(2160p) and contains a Dual-LED. The front camera is a 8MP sensor with f/2.2 lens that can give a wide capture and is capable of shooting 1080p at 30fps. The camera has got a slight hump on the top of the device with doesn't bother you a lot but is oddly colored.
The device is backedup by Non-removable Li-Po 3450 mAh battery, It packs a bit more juice than its predecessor and a 450mAh more than the Note5. It supports quick charging that is said to be giving 8 hours of stand-by time for just 10min of charging. As it features the latest Android Marshmallow, The doze feature will make sure the battery drain for long inactive use of the mobile. This is an exciting addition to the Nexus lineup and will be drawing more users for its reduced size, improved hardware specs, USB Type-C, Fingerprint sensor and Android Marshmallow out of the box.
