New version of Google maps brings offline navigation
Google distributes from now a new version of its Maps app. Google not brings only a revised offline mode, but also the opportunity to use navigation in downloaded maps without an internet connection.

The new version of the navigation app downloads a map on his smartphone to then access them without an Internet connection. Downloading is extremely simple. Just enter the name of a city, region, or why not a country and click on Download in the result page. One can also visit the "Offline Areas" (off-line areas) in the app menu and click the + button. And to avoid excessive consumption data, Google Maps will download maps on the device that the user access.
Whereas before you could just look at the map, Google Maps now provides a route to find it, in the manner of what a GPS, a particular destination (hotel, restaurant, museum ...), find Useful information on various locations (opening hours, phone number ...).
Once the recovered card, the app automatically switches to offline mode if it finds that the user is in an area without internet connection or in an area receiving only a patchy connection. As soon as it returns to a coverage area, the app returns to online mode.
The new version of Google Maps is now being shipped in waves to users of Android smartphone or tablet, iOS users have to wait a little longer. Over time, Google will still populating some more offline capabilities in Maps, the company writes in his company blog.
