Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update begins rolling out to Android One handsets



Google has apparently started rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to the Android One users. Android One are mainly sold in developing markets by local companies. The first device to get the latest version of the firmware is the Philippines based Cherry Mobile G1 smartphone.

This firmware was earlier released to Google Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Android One before the LG G4. The Moto X Style (3rd Gen) and the Moto X (2nd Gen) received it a few days ago.

Twitter leakster @LlabTooFer had announced that Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware update had been rolled out to Android One Handsets




As for the update, reports say that it's a minor one bringing some bug fixes and stability improvements, although a quick look at the images suggests that it also includes Google's December security patch.


This news didn't come as a surprise as Android One was one of the first to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update along with other Google devices. The latest version of the firmware should come with some minor bug fixes and improvement in stability.
