Apple has completely removed Google Maps from iCloud.com. It removed Google from iPhone online service called Find My iPhone/Mac/iPad. This app basically helped the Apple users to locate their lost or stolen Apple device and with the Lost Mode feature, not only the device is located, but also the places it has been earlier could be tracked.
An option to immediately lock the device and send it a message with contact number is available. Thereafter whoever finds the device can contact the owner from the Lock screen without accessing the rest of the information on the device.

From the looks of it, Apple maps now powers this particular feature, instead of Google Maps. Google Maps was replaced with its own Maps two years ago. Apple has finally brought its maps solution to the web and made the switch for its Find My iPhone web app.
A report earlier in September stated that Apple's Map team was searching for developers who could “design, develop, and maintain complex front-end code for a new secret project” that would include “an advanced web platform.” This clearly shows that the hiring was to replace Google in apps like Find My iPhone or to bring a full-blown Maps solution to third-parties on the web.Removing Google Maps from iCloud is just about the last step in completely transitioning to its own Maps app apart from retail store listings on its website that we’re guessing will be replaced in the near future.
