Google Chromecast now officially available in India

It’s rather odd to see the Chromecast not being made available on the Play Store and launched exclusively through one online carrier (Snapdeal). But if you want to purchase it officially this is the only way right now.
The HDMI powered media streaming dongle can be yours for the price of Rs. 2,999, which is slightly higher than Google's original $35 (Rs, 2,100) price tag.
The Chromecast is compatible with any HDMI capable television and is a decent accessory to own if you prefer doing a lot of your browsing and mirroring on the big screen. However, for the price, the Chromecast in India might not a viable purchase given its limited features.

But thanks to the ever active developer community, there are already plenty of makeshift solutions to bypass Google's in-built restrictions
As part of the launch, Airtel will offer 60 gigabytes of free data over three months on broadband plans.
