Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy J5 and J7 smartphones in India. The former carries a price tag of INR 11,999 ($190), while the latter will set you back INR 14,999 ($235). The selfie-focused smartphones will be available to purchase from July 24 exclusively via Flipkart. Pre-booking opens at 4pm on Thursday, and will last till July 23.
Samsung Galaxy J5 measures 142 x 73 x 8.5 mm and weighs 149 grams with a 5 inch HD display. The Android 5.1 Lollipop based smartphone has the 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core processor, 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and a 128 GB micro SD card slot.
The larger sized Samsung Galaxy J7 carries a 5.5-inch glass, and is driven by the Snapdragon 615 chipset containing a quad-core 1.4GHz CPU. This unit is priced at the equivalent of $234 USD.The Galaxy J7 is powered by a Snapdragon 615 chipset, sports a 5.5 inch 720p display, and packs in a 3,000 mAh battery. Rest of its specs are same as that of the J5.
