Get desktop notifications for WhatsApp chats

 WhatsApp Web Chrome extension is needed to get WhatsApp desktop notifications. Then,the only work remaining is to install a simple add-on called WA Toolkit. After installing it, you will see a new icon in your browser toolbar. Hover your cursor over it to see the most recently received message, or right click for more options. You'll also notice the WA Toolkit options button in your WhatsApp Web tab. The most interesting part of WA Toolkit is, it will notify you of messages on your desktop even when Chrome itself isn’t running.


Stop WhatsApp images appearing in your camera roll

Receiving images continuously & your friends send you loads of stupid pictures on WhatsApp, and you don't want them mixed in with all your amazing photos, it is possible to keep WhatsApp images separate so they don't appear in your camera roll.To avoid this fuss just simply follow few steps :


  •  Download a file explorer  
  •  Navigate it to sd card,
  •  Create a folder for this & name it as .nomedia .






Switch your WhatsApp  chat history between phones
If Storing your bulk chat history is almost become easier by Google Drive backups,But moving the backup over to another device ,is a pretty painless procedure. All you need is a microSD card and a few minutes to spare. few simple steps to be followed  :                    
  •  Insert a sd card into device
  •   move all the chat backup into the card           
  • remove the sd card Insert it into another device which has whatsapp installed
  •  Use file explorer to move the backup.



Send private messages in Bulk

Privacy on the internet is a hard thing to hold onto, but even the famously unprivate WhatsApp has a few features that let you do things on the down-low. Find out who has read your message in a WhatsApp group

Read receipts, marked by two blue ticks indicate that the recipient has read your message. 
Find out who has read your message on group chats.

On Android, Do a long press on a message sent by you. This reveals an 'i' with a circle around it. Tapping on it will show you who the message was delivered to, and read by.
On iPhone, See the Message Info screen by opening a chat with a contact or a group, then swiping your message from the left to right to see delivery and read notifications.




Hide 'Last seen', profile photo and status

Hiding in any matter from anything becomes a necessity  for atleast once in your life & that too hiding your personal photos , status & your last seen . thrown into a big group chat filled with party guests and people you don't know can be bewildering. Suddenly, your profile picture is staring back at a chatroom full of strangers, who can also see your status and when you're reading messages. Here's how to have better control over who sees this information on WhatsApp:



  • Tap the Options icon at the top right of WhatsApp
  • Go to Settings > Account > Privacy
  • Go through the Last seen, Profile photo, and Status options, then set their visibility to 'Everyone', 'My contacts' or 'Nobody'.



Mute annoying WhatsApp group chats

When messages starts in a group chat it never ends for a time & receiving notifications continuously is like irritating sometimes , because of instances sounds of notifications.So,whatsapp created an option for making that group silent for couple of minutes , depending upon time we require.The messages will be received but the notifications will not be received by there tone , as it will be muted. Rather than just leave the chat, which may be offend some people, you can simply mute the chat so you stop receiving notifications from it. 


  • Tap the Chats tab
  • Tap the group you want to mute.
  • With the group open, tap the Options icon at the top right
  • Tap Mute, then select the amount of time you want to mute the group for. 



Create a homescreen shortcut for your favorite chats


Some friends might be there with whom you want to talk whenever there picture or name appears in front of you.So whatsapp comes up with its create shortcut option , through which you can create a shortcut of that person with whom you want to conversate  it will be displayed on your desktop homescreen. This means you can jump straight into chats with your BFFs and important groups.
  •  tap the Chats tab.
  • Tap and hold the conversation you want to create a shortcut for.
  • When the list of options appears, tap Add conversation shortcut
  • A shortcut displaying your contact's profile picture will now appear on your homescreen. 

Recover deleted messages

By default WhatsApp backs up your messages every day at 4am. This means that if you've deleted any messages since then, but before the next auto-backup, you can still recover them. To do this:
  • Uninstall WhatsApp from your device (Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Uninstall).
  • Reinstall WhatsApp.
  • Type your phone number into WhatsApp, then it should notify you that it's found a backup of your chats.
  • Tap Restore to get your deleted messages back.

Lock WhatsApp
