The Facebook app that has been draining out the battery from iPhones is finally fixed.
Even though it wasn't running in the background and even with iOS 9’s new attention to saving your battery life, Facebook was still draining iPhones everywhere.

The developer, Ari Grant, wrote that Facebook “found a few key issues and have identified additional improvements.”He explained that there were two main causes for the battery-killing app. First, Grant identified a “CPU spin” within Facebook’s code. He described the term as “repeated processing [which] causes our app to use more battery than intended.

The version released today has some improvements that should start making this better.” Facebook also admitted to mismanaging audio sessions, as was suspected. If you watch a video on Facebook and then leave the app, the audio session just keeps on going, killing battery.

He says Facebook has updated its app, and these things have been addressed.“We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused,” Grant concluded the post. “We are committed to continuing to improve the battery usage of our app and you should see improvements in the version released today.
