Intex Launches Aqua Star 4G with 5-inch HD display and Idata saver at Rs.6499


Intex becomes the first Indian brand to integrate Opera Max’s functionality into its operating system on its 4G smartphone. This feature will reduce data consumption by up to 50% on images, webpages and streaming, especially with image-heavy audio & video apps, such as Instagram, YouTube, Gaana and Saavn.




Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies said, "With the massive demand and high usage of smartphones, data consumption has become the most critical aspect for the consumer. Considering this changing behaviour, Intex has partnered with Opera Max to give its tech savvy consumers a built-in data-saving feature to control data consumption and get the maximum out of their data plans."

Nitin Bhandari, Senior Vice President for products at Opera, on the announcement said, "We are extremely delighted to partner with Intex and pleased that they chose our Opera Max compression technology to enhance their users' mobile experience."

Regarding specifications,the aqua star 4G flaunts a 5-inch (1280x720 pixels) HD display with a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood,is the 64 bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM.The device comes with 8GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. 

The device sports an 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing shooter for video calling and selfie clicks. The device supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB port. The handset juices a 2000mAh battery and runs on Andriod 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The dimensions of the device measure 143 x 72.6 x 9 mm and weighs around 150  grams.

The device also sports a Swalekh and Matrabhasha feature which enables user to write in their native language (communication in 21 regional languages) while chatting, tweeting or composing emails and text messages. It supports word prediction (English to Native) and auto-correct with a native language keyboard. The smartphone comes in Black, Grey and White color variants and is priced at Rs. 6,499.
