Reliance Retail 'Lyf' to Launch 4G Smartphones

Reliance Retail 'Lyf' brand from Reliance Industries Limited(RIL) 

Mukesh Ambani largest shareholder of Reliance Industries Limited(RIL) coming back into telecom business with a Rs. 4,000 4G smartphone by December 2015.


"LYF range of smartphones comes with superior features like Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over WiFi (VoWiFI), HD Voice and HD quality video calling will enable users to experience a new digital life,availability of 4G smartphones has been one of the topmost priorities for Reliance Jio." said Reliance Industries in a press.

The RIL Chairman said Jio has deployed a network of nearly 250,000 route kilometres of fibre optics and over the next 3 years, it will more than double than this by deploying fibre optics in the last mile,Jio is the only operator in the world providing next generation digital services over an end-to-end all-IP network,built on the premise of unmatched user experience will offer high performance handsets that deliver a true 4G experience comparable to the best in the world.


Reliance Jio is set to roll out its LTE services in India by December 2015. The company holds a total of 751.1MHz spectrum across 800MHz, 1,800MHz and 2,300MHz bands.An agreement was made with Anil Ambani-led RCom to share spectrum in the 800 MHz band across seven telecom circles.RIL said RelJio has successfully demonstrated legal interception and monitoring rules compliance of its 4G network for high speed wireless Internet, phone calls, video and messaging service across country.

The launch of the 4G-enabled LYF phones is expected to coincide with the public availability of the Reliance Jio pan-India 4G network which is currently being tested and optimized.
