Samsung is having a pretty busy
quarter this year as the company introduced the impressive Galaxy S7 and Galaxy
S7 edge, rolling out the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its existing
flagship devices across the globe. Android 6.0
will be making its way to the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ after hitting the Galaxy
Note 5, S6, S6 Edge and S5 during those past couple of months.
The Sprint software update
(G928PVPU2BPC3) is now making its way through cyberspace, though you may have
to wait a little before it reaches your handset. To check, you'll need to fire
up the Settings app on your handset and navigate through About device -->
Software update --> Update now.
Besides the tent-pole features
of Marshmallow – new permission system, Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, the
update brings visual tweaks to Samsung’s controversial TouchWiz and
enhancements to the Edge features. These include a larger Edge panel, the
ability to add shortcuts to frequently used apps, and a set of small utilities
including a ruler. Users are receiving an update sized at a massive 1.3GB so make
sure to connect to a WiFi network if you don’t want to choke out your allocated
data limit. The new update brings a handful of new features and enhancements to
the handset, including improved fingerprint security, Quick Connect
improvements, battery saver improvements and more.
An OTA notification should be
finding its way to your status bar pretty soon, but you can also check for the
update yourself from the usual location in About Phone.
