Sansung last week released the new Galaxy Note 5 alongside S6 Edge Plus which were announced earlier because of the low sales of Samsung S6 and S6 Edge. While on the other hand, The OnePlus 2 was unveiled in July 2015 after OnePlus 1 had a great success last year. While these may seem different in many ways including price, they are similar in a lot of ways. Here is a complete comparison of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and OnePlus 2.

Size

Both phones have a big size factor, But Note 5 has a better Screen to Size ratio than Oneplus 2. Both measure similarly in all aspects except the thickness where Note 5 is thinnest of the both.


Weight


Both of them almost weigh the same. But Samsung has done well considering Note 5 has full Aluminum Body.

Screen


Again Samsung has managed to put 5.7" screen with the identical dimensions of OnePlus 2.

Display


The OnePlus 2 features a 1080P LCD display and 401PPI compared to Not 5's 2K resolution Super AMOLED display. Both are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Colors


The OnePlus 2's back cover can be customized with no. of back covers, making it more customizable where as The Note 5 comes in 4 color variants with Titanium Silver newly added to the Note family of color variants.

Multi-Windows


This is where Samsung takes advantage of the big size factor. It provides plent of tweaks like Multi windows, pop-up App and shrinking any app screen all helping in providing 2 apps at once. 

Performance


Both phones are incredibly fast, with 64-BIT processors. Note 5 though has a octa-core processor, while the OnePlus 2 has a tweaked Snapdragon 810 processor which is said to be free of overheat issues which the other snapdragon 810SoC's had. But considering the clean UI of OnePlus 2 there won't be any stuttering or lag. Though Note 5 has a very powerful processor because of the wide range of software tweaks it provides the device may lag now and then. 

RAM


This time OnePlus has 2 different variants equipped with 3GB or 4GB RAM for the customers to choose for there needs. The Note 5 is powered by a 4GB RAM. The both the devices will easily take care of any high memory tasks with easy.

Memory


The 16GB variant is equipped with 3GB RAM and 32GB with 4GB RAM for the OnePlus 2. theres no 32GB variant so many of them may opt to buy the 64GB variant to be away from the low memory problems. On the other hand the Note 5 without SD card has opted for 32GB and 64GB variants and hasn't went with a 128GB model.

Camera


The OnePlus has got a  13MP rear shooter compared to Note 5's 16MP camera. Both of them take some amazing pictures, but the Note 5 is comparatively takes better pictures and camera can be launched from anywhere by just double tapping the Home button. Coming to slow motion recording the OnePlus 2 shoots 1080p@60fps and 720p@120fps having an upper hand over note 5 which can shoot only 1080p@60fps without any 120fps shooting capability. 

OIS


No big-deal, both the devices come with the Optical Image Stabilization helping you reduce the shakiness while capturing any video.

Software


Both the handsets run the Android Lollipop and will be able to be upgraded to Android Marshmallow in the near future. Both run there own proprietary skins over the android OS. Samsung runs the latest Touchwiz which is well known for providing various wide range of tweaks and customizability. The Oxygen OS is rather a more simple and close to Stock kind of skin over the Android OS.

Stylus


The Note series are well known for Stylus they are equipped with, which looks more premium now providing now built with a metal body. You can also now do things like take multi-page screenshots and write notes on its screen before even waking up the phone (thanks to that AMOLED panel).

Fingerprint Sensor

Both the devices are equipped with Fingerprint Sensors on the Physical home button. Both are very quick and accurate, while Note 5 additionally provides using of Fingerprints to Logging into Samsung Account and can be used alongside wallet service Samsung Pay.

Battery

The OnePlus 2 has got more battery capacity than the note 5 with both non-removable. The OnePlus 2 is expected to last longer with its 1080p display and clean UI. 

Quick Charging

Though the OnePlus 2 comes with USB Type-c technology it doesn't take the advantage of the Quick charge technology. While Samsung is concentrating more on Fast charging rather than providing higher capacity batteries. The Note 5 can Charge form 0 to 100% in 90 min.

Wireless Charging

The Note 5 is also supports Wireless charging providing you to charge it on-the-go. Also the Note 5 charges from 0 to 100% in just 120min wirelessly. 

Pricing

This is where the major difference is, the OnePlus 2 3GB RAM variant is priced $329 and 4GB variant with $389 where as Note 5 is priced $750. But considering the Uni Aluminium Body the Note 5 is priced higher and also the OnePlus is known for providing the handsets at a much lower prices.

Released Date

The OnePlus 2 was released on July 31st through a VR launch all over the world, Samsung released the Note 5 at Unpacked Event held in August rather than unveiling it at IFA, Berlin 2015.
